I was just curious about theses boots. I just got hired onto a DOE SRT Team and am going to be reimbursed up to $250 for boots. Trying to figure out the best way to spend that money. I'm thinking a couple pair of Bates Defender Durashocks or some 5.11 ATAC's, or maybe even one of each. Might even consider just getting one really good pair of Danners. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Tactical Boots: Ever tried the Oakley US Standard Issue SI Assault Boots?
Oakleys are good boots, no doubt. If they're going to buy you a new pair every year, go for it.
If you only get this $250 one time, though, I would go with 2 pair of 5.11s or 3 pair of Bates.
Reply:Get the Oakleys, if you're reimbursed. The Bates and Danners are just standard boots and not really that comfortable. The Oakleys are more like a hi tech athletic shoe and feel great to be in.
