my best friend and i are going to see the musical Wicked in a few weeks and im wearing a black and white wrap dress that hits 2 inches above my knee but since i live in good old new england its probably gunna be chilly that night. i still want to wear the dress so i was thinking instead of black heels maybe a pair of boots that hit under my knee..would that look slutty? i was thinking about a pair of really nice ones, not the pleather (yes pleather!!) dominatrix looking ones ive seen on display in stores. would black boots look appropriate for a fancy theatre if they are paired with a classy dress?
also what do u guys think makes knee high boots look more street walker that chic? is it the height of the heel? the material? just the outfit they are paired with? all of the above?
ex: i saw a girl wearing knee high vinyl black boots with a super high chrome stiletto heel..paired with daisy dukes and a black tube top...yuck!!
Knee high boots? classy or hookerish?
If ur dress is very classy I wouldn't wear boots.
Unless u're wearing very classy and nice boots, nice leather, nice heels (that counts a lot) like stiletto heels, NEVER EVER
wear a classy dress with boots that have THICK heels, horrible!!! Honestly, I wouldn't wear boots like that in any occasion. I do not like them.
But if u know how to pair all of it, I guess u can pull it off.
What about pumps?
Pointy or rounded would look nice.
What makes a boot nice, classy and not "trashy"
is the material, never go for a Vynil look, u know? that glossy material?? No no
the heels have a huge impact on a pair of boots.
Go for nice heels, stiletto is possible.
Here are some pictures of boots and pumps:
This one?? NEVER

Reply:i dont know i'd hve to see u in them "call me"lol
Reply:dont matter what you're wearing, when they go above the knee that high they're absolutely hookerish
Reply:try wearing tights or leggings underneath the dress and flats with it or some other type of shoe...
sorry but whenever i see someone with like knee high boots it just yucks me out..
i assume that theyre likea stripper or something, (i know, sorry i shouldnt assume but its just what i first think of if i see them)
depends HWO you wear them though...you can make them look classy i suppose. just dont wear a really short hem and dont show a whole bunch of clevage or dont havea bare back , stuff like that
i think the things that gets me about the boots is that theyre usually black super high-heeled and leather right? i just thinkit doesnt look the greatest
but to make sure that you really do look classy, tried just regular heels or flats with tights/stockings/leggings to keep you abit mroe covered up and warmer
Reply:wear low shoes with footless tights or leggings underneath ur dress, boots make you look sl*tty
Reply:its back now so you won't look slutty. especially with what your wearing.
Reply:So boots are hookerish? Doubt it.....everybody wears these boots. It may be a bit early in the year still, but wear what you want. Don't worry so much about others opinions. Don't dress for others. Dress in what you like.
Reply:Sexy, not hookerish!
Reply:I think that it would be appropriate to wear. If you're going to wear it with the wrap dress it would look perfect.
Depending on what outfit you wear, like a mini skirt and a revealing top and then knee high boots that makes it more street walker like. But as long as you're pairing it with a chic outfit, you'll be fine.
Reply:If you wear an outfit (skirt) that cover the boots at the top I think it looks classy.
Reply:I think it completely depends on what you are wearing the boots with. And, what they are made of.
Okay, if you are questioning whether you should wear it, I feel like the answer is probably don't wear it.
Reply:hookerish
Reply:haha I agree with my other fellow answerers
hookerish
Reply:Dressy knee high boots are classy and classic. They've been around forever and they are a fall wardrobe staple for anyone living in a colder climate. I prefer knee length or longer hemlines with boots, or dark opaque tights with shorter hemlines, but that's just my personal taste. You already know to stay away from dominatrix heels, and what not to wear with them -so go for it.
Reply:Depends on what else you are wearing.
