English tall boots to tall?
The same thing happened to me, although the only reason I was looking was because it was a closeout sale, and I ended up not getting them for this reason. If they are too tall in the back, but you love them, you could have them cut(professionally). If you don%26#039;t love them so much, you could have them custom made. I would also suggest maybe waiting until you grow, because if you get really expensive boots, then grow out of them, it sort of stinks. Good Luck!!!!
Reply:tall boots are very tricky, you may grow taller, but chances are they will always be too tall. tall boots always pinch in the backs of my knees, they are supposed to be redonkulously tall for show purposes its supposed to be more refined. So just look around and try on as many as you can untill you get the right fit. make sure you try and get a %26quot;spanish%26quot; cut i think its called, where the outisde of the boot is cut high but the rest is low so it doesnt interfere. And measure your calf so you at least know what size. hope you find a pair! p.s. paddock boots with half chaps are a good alternative.
Reply:Look closely at people you know whose tall boots have %26quot;broken in%26quot; you%26#039;ll notice they start to %26quot;crinkle%26quot; at the ankle. This will actually result in the boot seeming to get %26quot;shorter%26quot;. When you first walk around in them they are no fun, but in the saddle with your knee bent it%26#039;s not so bad. I was told %26quot;they%26#039;re for riding not for walking%26quot; so it%26#039;s all about how they fit when you ride. Be sure you have an experienced person helping you fit them. Nothing dorkier in the show ring than boots that are too short!
Reply:How much too tall are they ?

When they break in they will %26quot;drop%26quot; at the ankle but in reality they don%26#039;t drop very far. If they are only just too long you could get away with it but they will be uncomfortable for a while until that happens.

If you look at good brands then usually they come in different leg sizes like wide/short and narrow/long so ask about that in the shop - they might have to order them in for you.
Reply:if you are due for a growth spurt, maybe you should buy them and leave some room for that. I know you can order them from statelinetack.com or catologue or dover.com or catologue and they have all the measurements. Also what ever brand you were trying on may come in different heights so look on thier websites. Both of the websites ive mentioned have awesome customer service and if you call the 1-800 # on their sites they will be a lot of help. Plus they have good return policies if they dont work out. Good luck!
Reply:Look into the Ariat tall boots. You can pick the height, calf width and the shoe size. They also come in pull on a zip up. And they come in several price ranges.
Reply:They make rubber inserts you can put in the heel to give you some height. I can%26#039;t think of what they are called but ill let you know when i think of it.
Reply:You could get some custom made ones or just get them anyways you will grow and they will %26quot;settle%26quot; and get shorter too
