Has anyone used those ski boot bags that plug into your car electrcals and heat your boots for you?
I saw them in a shop and wondered if they would be any good, at least your boots would be warm to put on. Would they be ay good to dry your boots at the end of the day? Could you heat muffins in them?
Has anyone used those ski boot bags that plug into your car electrcals and heat your boots for you?
First, heat muffins? Genius! I have to try that next season!
I have tried the boot warmers that plug into the car. I personally haven%26#039;t seen a tremendous benefit by them and here%26#039;s why:
When you leave in the morning, your boots hopefully somewhere warm the night before (like your house). After taking them out to the car, if you just simply put them next to a warm air-vent. Surprisingly, this works pretty well in keeping your boots warm and supple. The thing is that this is a normal situation. In situations that aren%26#039;t normal (i.e you spent he night in your car the night before in the parking lot) (i have done this =p) those warmers are extremely nice.
I think the best way to go is car warmers because they do generate more heat and you don%26#039;t have to worry about them failing. All in all, I wouldn%26#039;t buy them purely because you don%26#039;t actually really USE them a lot, just in irregular situations as explained above. But they are nice and if you are a frequent skiier, then add it to your gear!
Reply:you can buy battery powered ones that are cheaper.

Boots? For Chemical Factory?
My husband works in a detergent factory. When the bottles jam up or the filler goes haywire, it spills on the floor, and he squeegees it into backfill tanks, where its cleaned and recycled. When this happens, he ends up standing in several inches of the liquid soap, and it tears his workboots all to pieces.
Can anyone recommend a good brand of boots for this kind of stress? We%26#039;ve tried Bates adn Redwings, but neither lasted very long.
Boots? For Chemical Factory?
The biggest problem you have is that boots are made out of leather and the chemicals are rotting the leather. Most leather is treated and coated by eventually the chemicals will get through. You can buy PVC boots but the biggest problem with them is it will make your feet sweat. Dubbing is an old fashioned way of protecting your boots but you will have to keep applying it.
People in industries like building and dairy, where chemicals and food attack the footwear offen have a different mentality to the problem. They think along the lines of what ever the buy will not last long so they buy the cheapest boot and replace it every few month, as semi-disposable attitude.
Reply:Some sort of rain boot. Not a regular wear on the street type, but, something you wear in a rain storm. Sounds like fairly potent stuff. I hope they have regular safety meetings. He should leave any contaminated garments at work or in the trunk. A respirator %26amp; goggles would be mandatory when dealing with spills. I have had some containment training %26amp; emphasizied the fact that contaminents can be brought home with garments. Read all M.S.D.S. about the chemicals. ( manufactuer safety data sheet ) Presently the company I work for supplies every saftey %26amp; protection device that our safety dept. can buy. It%26#039;s connected to some sort of insurance savings.
Reply:they sell a boot at ll bean.a rough outdoor water resistent boot.good ones too.expensive but well insulated and water tight to the top strap..check out LLBean..
Reply:I would get the old gum boots for these occassions. They are impervious and you can tuck your pants in.
HAve them on stand by and put them on when you need them.
Reply:muck boots. made for dairy farmers and such. buy them at any farm store.

Boots Advantage card? Points spending & earning? *Best Answer*?
I have £15 to spend on my Boots card..
There%26#039;s an offer on Urban Deca products.. Buy 2 products and get 500 points..
So can I buy something for £10 using my points and spend £20 of my own money and still get 500 points?
Thanks...
Boots Advantage card? Points spending %26amp; earning? *Best Answer*?
Yes but you wil have to do the 2 transactions seperately. Boots Advantage Card points don%26#039;t work the same as something like say, Nectar, where you get the option to use your points as part payment. You either pay with points or pay cash, credit whatever.
Reply:You have to pay for a product out right either with points or money, You can%26#039;t pay part money part points and if you pay with points you don%26#039;t receive any. Hope this makes sense!!

Ladies: do you love wearing boots and why?
I love a woman in boots. I don%26#039;t mean wellingtons or biking boots, but knee-high and thigh-high boots with stilletto heels.
Despite my best efforts, my girlfriend will not wear boots for me as it%26#039;s %26quot;not her%26quot;. I guess that%26#039;s fair enough, since she can wear what she wants.
but I wonder which of you ladies loves wearing boots, what type of boots you have and when are where you wear them...
Ladies: do you love wearing boots and why?
Ilove all my knee high boots, i think i have an addiction to them!!!
I like wearing them because they make me feel very sexy and look good with most outfits, plus i have pretty long and good looking legs (even if i do say so myself) and they just make them look even longer and better
I think most women that wear them feel sexier, you can tell with how we walk
Sounds like your girlfriend may think they%26#039;re are bit, dare i say it %26quot;sluttish%26quot;, why not treat her to a shopping trip so she can buy anice outfit to go with them!

Reply:i love wearing knee high stiletto boots, makes me feel sexy!!! I wear them to work with a knee length skirt to look smart or a shorter skirt when out
Reply:I am with you on that one - I have a lovely collection of them and my favourite ones have metal spike heels. At my age its an indoor hobby for my husband and I to enjoy but when I was younger you couldn%26#039;t get me out of boots! Try and persuade your girlie into them as its a bit of a laugh. A sort of corny but horny joke.

But there%26#039;s nothing wrong with that; I%26#039;ve been taking girls to bed in their boots for 20 years, and there really is NOTHING better. It is just the most perfect sex!
You really ought to try it sometime...
Does your g/f know how you really feel? What you really want her to wear boots for?
That you are so frustrated that you have to resort to being titillated by OTHER girls, telling you about their boots?
(Maybe you shouldn%26#039;t tell her THAT bit!)
Perhaps I could give her some %26quot;advice%26quot; lol

Those UGG boots?
Okay, so I was on Tillys.com looking for UGG boots and I noticed that the men%26#039;s classic short are the same exact boot (well maybe they are a LITTLE bit longer)but they are cheaper and I am looking for the cheapest ones I can find. Do you think it would be better to get those instead? Nobody will be able to tell the difference right?
These are the mens: http://www.tillys.com/tillys/variants.as...
These are the womens: http://www.tillys.com/tillys/variants.as...

i would get the mens UGG boots. there is no diffrence at all!!
i would also suggest getting emus if the mens UGG are more expensive.%26lt;3

Best football boots a for a defender?
need new boots for the new season..i play rb n do like having a few runs up the wing but i aint sure what boots to buy..played last season in nike vapors, they were a good boot and liked then alot but what ive been hearing they are more like strikers boots or people with lots of skill and pace..
so any ideas?
Best football boots a for a defender?
total 90 lasers you could clear pretty good they let your foot breath supposevly and they look good alot of professional defenders wear them
ferdinand marquez zambrotta just to name a few
Reply:the best boots I bought as a defender were new balance.A brand more known for sprinters and athletes.gareth southgate advertised them years ago.
Reply:I say the puma v-kons II, good padding, excellent control and very light, not to mention that kick *** look.
Reply:i always liked mitre
get boots with studs so you can hack someone down and less injury risk for you.
Reply:OH MY GOD
Reply:I%26#039;ve never heard something so ridiculous in my life, theres no such thing as defenders boots or strikers boots its all about the player who wears them, if i had to recommend some though it would be adidas world cup. a classic boot, no messing around.
Reply:steel toe caps ha ha
Reply:Why do you people keep asking these questions??? It is not the boots that make a player!!! buy whatever ones feel comfortable...simple!!!
Reply:if ur a defender that gets stuck into tackles you should go for umbro x boot destroyer ( terry wears them), or puma v-konstrukt II (carragher, dawson, heinze wear them).
but like you said you like to run up and down to wing so maybe the adidas tunit 2 f50 are the best for you, worn by wright phillips, cashley cole and defoe. but are a bit more expensive

Where can i find boots?(western riding)?
ok well i asked a question and everyone said buy boots with a heel, that are not fashion ones ,but my question is ,where am i supposed to get these boots,i dont have time order them online cuz my lesson is next weekend. and there is a cowboy/girl boots store in a mini mall but cowgirl/boy boots seem kinda embarrasing for my first lesson ,cuz she (my instucter ) never said do get any ,but i also havent talked to her myself (my mom has) my mom said i can wear tennis my first lesson but she doesnt know. well, where can i get boots from? ,payless?
i mean for western riding ,if you hadnt got that.
thanks in advance
Where can i find boots?(western riding)?
good proper fitting western boots are hard to find in a hurry.if you want good fitted boots go to %26quot;drewsboots.com%26quot; and look at their selection.they have the fitting guide and toe and heel guides so you know what to ask for when you buy your boots, but for now you need a good pair of sort heel%26#039;d shoes that wont let your foot slip through the sturrup.
edit;western boots have different uses for the heels and toes.starting with heels, roper heels have low heels usually 1 1/4 inch tall and not undercut also known as a wellington heel.roper toes are round and flat also known as a wr toe.western boots are like tack and saddles, each has a use and here in the west you can tell what part of the country a cowboy is from by his boots and hat also if he is a real cowboy or a drugstore cowboy.tall boots for brush riding, shorties for ranch work.ropers for walking(why walk when you can ride)underslung with spur ledges for riding long days.sharp toes for brush, round toes for arena%26#039;s.real cowboys are lost artists and everything they wear has a use.hats for sun and rain(also holds water for horses and putting out fire pits)bandanas for washing up,wiping dirt and sweat off and can be used as a bandage or dust mask.long sleeve button down shirts to cover the arms.vests to hold things(they have pockets)and keep you warm.tight pants keep saddle rashes down.chaps for brush and to keep rope burns off your pants.slickers for rain and keeps your saddle dry.but mostly boots have to be well fitting and keep your feet dry and are also used as brakes(when roping on the ground digging the heels in).doggin heels, roping heels, walking heels, underslungs and box heels all have a purpose and use but you would be better off with roper boots which can be found at western shops or feed stores and they are cheap and used for what you need them for.
Reply:just get some paddock boots that are english, no one will care
honestly i ride in them half the time because they are so comfy once broken in and they are just all around great :)

Cowboy/cowgirl boots may be the way to go if you cant find them anywhere else. You can try fleet farm or any surrounding tack stores in your area. (Look up on yellowpages)
Also ive bought english boots before with a small heel at famous footwear. They were cheap and then after one use you can buy proper ones.
goodluck
if you need them fast you wont be able to get proper ones unless you go someplace like fleet farm and get girl/boy cow boots.
Reply:Where do you live? Go buy some roper boots at any saddlery store and if you like riding western then buy them on line when you can. If you currently have English/paddock/barn boots, then use them. Do not wear tennis shoes. The saddle and stirrups are completely different. You need a boot with a heel for the western stirrup.
ADDED: If you will look at the first link I gave you, it shows Roper boots. Since you haven%26#039;t said what state/country you live in, we don%26#039;t know where to tell you to buy them.
Reply:Cj, my suggestion is don%26#039;t rush out and spend hard earned money on something that you are not sure you would like or would wear. i am sure that at your 1st lesson you can wear sneakers. If you are wanting some really good quality boots at a great price I suggest Ebay. Some of the better boots that are not extravagant but will hold up are Tony Lama, Justin, Nacona and those are just a few. Don%26#039;t get anything made of exotic skin stick with a cowhide, goat hide ostrich is good to. The exotic are beautiful but you would just ruin them riding. DO NOT GET ANY FAT BABY%26quot;S they are very dangerous to ride in, the boot is bulky and your foot could get hung up in a stirrup. whatever you do decide to buy I hope they make you DANCE. if you need any more questions answered on cowboy boots you can email me
PS Ebay usually will ship the next day

So what's with a Boots Fetish?
I was reading a few questiona about fetishes %26amp; I saw one about Fetishes. People have loads of different fetishes from what I can gather such as stockings (LOL) %26amp; other stuff. I heard that a fetish for boots was quite a popular one, be they thigh boots, riding boots, leather boots, rubber boots etc.
Does anybody out there have such a fetish, and if so can you explain why boots are such a huge turn on for you, and if so, if a certain kind floats your boat more than another?
So what%26#039;s with a Boots Fetish?
IDK if I%26#039;d call it a %26quot;fetish%26quot; but when I see a woman wearing boots I have to look. She could be 50 in a nice set of boots and I%26#039;d be checkin the boots out. Maybe it is a fetish idk... like I don%26#039;t get arroused or anything... I can%26#039;t really explain why I like them so much, I just do. Uggs *with the wool on top*, leather to the bottom of the knee or higher with a pointed toe, square toe, heels, or stilletto heals. Looking at some boots online, it seems I%26#039;m drawn more to the ones that hug the calf and show the curves. Sorry I can%26#039;t tell you what it is that is attractive, but I hope this helps.

Are paddock boots good for both western and english?
i am mostly a western rider but i am learning english. i was wondering if paddock boots are okay to show in english. i showed w/ them in western last year and they were fine, but i dont know if they will be okay to wear for english riding or do i need to buy the tall boots too? also, i would like someone%26#039;s advice if i should buy new boots on ebay for cheaper or if i should pay more but make sure tht the boot fits properly at a local store. Thanks for the help.
Are paddock boots good for both western and english?
how old are you? paddock boots and garters are ok for kids, but tall boots are required for teens and adults. If you%26#039;re just doing a schooling show at your barn, you can probably get away with just paddock boots (or maybe paddock boots and half chaps), but if you%26#039;re doing anything else from local shows to bigger shows, you%26#039;ll need tall boots.
You should absolutely positively buy your boots from the store... UNLESS you go to the store and try some on so you know your size and then you can buy online. I bought my first pair of tall boots online... I got the wide ones for my big calfs and they had a gusset so I figured they would fit but they didn%26#039;t... they wouldn%26#039;t come all the way up so they were very bunched up around my ankles... I ended up having to buy new ones at a store a few months later. You also need to see how tall you need them to be... if you do buy online, remember that new boots stretch out and drop a little bit... don%26#039;t get boots that are barely tall enough or else they will drop and end up being too short.

Leather for backpacking/hunting boots?
Hello,
Can someone school me on boot leather. I am looking for a pair of MEINDL boots that are made with %26quot;split leather%26quot; and i have heard recently that this is not the best leather to use on boots.
Which i find contradicting as MEINDL makes some of the highest quality boots out there.
%26quot;Full grain nubuck%26quot; leather is also another advertised boot leather that i%26#039;m curious about
if someone knows ups/downs to both that would be great.
Thanks so much
Leather for backpacking/hunting boots?
Hi there,
I%26#039;ve been selling hiking boots for the last 7 years and the main difference is the look. The nubuck has the brushed finish where the Split Leather has the harder polished look.
The Split leather in it%26#039;s original form is slightly more waterproof but then both leathers are normally treated to make them 100% waterproof anyway. Plus then you have your Gore-tex or equivilent lining inside anway.
The other difference is that the split leather is slightly harder wareing in my opinion.
Cheers, ToNy!
%26quot;Success.Trail%26quot;
P.S. I love Meindl Boots, they are fantastic.
Reply:Ok here is some of the deal. Full grain leather is more expensive and more durable. The outer %26quot;skin%26quot; is more wether proof, but it can be bulky and pinch your foot as well as cause moisture due to sweat to build up since it is more weather proof.
Split leather is less durable cheaper(more material per cow hide) less durable due to deminished thickness and grain continuity(part of thr grain is cut off) it is more flexable and conforms to your foot better ,it also breaks in easier (but also wears out faster too).it breaths better but it is less water resistant though because of the less bulk and open grain you will often find gortex and the like as a liner making it water resistant again.
I find full thickness leather to be easier to take care of personally.and do not like the way nubuck or swead leather takes to products like Dubin and mink oil. there are some good silicone based spray or brush on weather protectents though that are Nubuck, swaed, and full grain leather. Hope this helps:) YES IT WILL HARDEN UP AFTER DRYING OUT AND YES IT WILL SHRINK ABIT BUT IT WILL COME BACK TO LIFE

Where are these snow boots?
I%26#039;m taking a big ski trip here in the next couple of weeks and since it%26#039;s winter anyways, I figured grabbing a pair of snow boots would be appropriate. I found a pair I think would be really warm and great to wear but I only found one pair while browsing on Ebay and I can%26#039;t find them anywhere else.. unless i%26#039;m not looking in the right places. These are the ones i%26#039;m interested in.. everything else just didn%26#039;t suit my fancy. If anyone knows where I can find these boots or ones like them I would really appreciate any information! The fur adds a little something extra as does the heel.. I like boots with a little something rather than those flat snow boots. Normally I would think these were hideous but everything else I found just didn%26#039;t do it for me. Thanks!

Won't Boot, but F1 then Boots?
Friend has a DELL Dimension 4300 1.6 Ghz 128MB RAM Phoenix BIOS DELL V002 XP Home Edition. Just started giving error msg %26quot;Primary hard drive not found%26quot;
I checked the BIOS and it showed NO Hard drive or CD ROMS installed. It has 1 80 Gig hard drive and 1 CDRW ROM Drive and 1 CD ROM drive. The Hard drive (C:) is on the Primary Controller by itself, the two CD ROM drives are on the Secondary Controller.
I checked cables, and power connections, all good. Replaced cables to be sure, same problem.
I had a spare 160 Gig hard drive with XP Pro so I hooked it up, the Dell start screen comes up and the %26quot;Progress bar%26quot; goes to the end, then it waits a few seconds and gives error %26quot;Boot device not found, Press F1 to continue or F2 to go to SETUP%26quot; When I press F1 it boots fine everytime. When I check the BIOS it shows the hard drive correctly (160 gig) %26amp; the 2 CD ROM drives.
So WHY is it not finding the hard drive when you first turn the computer on, but can hit F1 %26amp; boots fine everytim
Won%26#039;t Boot, but F1 then Boots?
Sounds to me like The systems BIOS is either not functioning properly, or not capable of handling such large hard drives. I suggest going to dell.com, and downloading the latest BIOS for your make/model. This should solve the problem
One other thing that you could check would be the jumpers on the hard drive, make sure the jumper is set to either cable select, or master.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know if this is the problem but you can try checking the boot sequence.

Cold weather boots.... Columbia or Sorel?
My Columbia boots just blew out the seams after 6 years of use and I am looking at getting a new pair of boots to replace them. I%26#039;ve heard good things about Sorel boots but I%26#039;m not sure If I want to change brands after my good luck with the Columbia brand. Things that are important to me are warmth, their ability to keep my feet dry and they have to be comfortable. I%26#039;m not as active in the winter sports so they need to be able to handle normal wear and tear. The three boots I am looking at are the Columbia Bugabootoo, The Columbia Bugalution WP %26amp; the Sorel Timberwolf. Let me know if there are other Brands or styles that are comparable in price (around $100) that you would recommend as well. Thanks!
Cold weather boots.... Columbia or Sorel?
Timberland has the best boots period(.) But if I had to choose it would probably be Columbia Bugabootoo.
Reply:coloubia i have a pair and they are VERY durable.I have had them for 3 years now,and they are still in perfect condition.

Reply:Sorel%26#039;s by far.... get the kind with the gray insert. Those things are so fricken warm it ain%26#039;t even funny.

Can I wear "white boots" with black/dark/blue suits? Or, Is it just a fashion fau paux??? Help needed....
Am 27, male, working in the finance/banking industry. So need to wear suits 7 days a week. Moreover, I love wearing them to parties/gathering/outing with my gf as well. Never wear t-shits, jeans etc etc. I recently got a pair of white boots (leather), kind of this one:
http://www.cloggs.co.uk/content/ebiz/clo...
So, can I wear my white boots to work or when am going out with my gf in the evenings with SUITS/BLAZERS?
Additional note: My gf is a TV personality... have had asked her, and she loves it.... she wears white boots herself, with anything %26amp; everything. So are males allowed the same thing?
Would really love if one and all could comment. Am really trying to get an opinion here.
Thanks to all for the kind perusal of the above,
Chow, XX

i think it%26#039;s stylish and classy. do wear a white belt or a white tie with it.
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t do it.
Everytime I see a guy wearing white shoes with a suit and tie...it just looks like a guy who is trying to be stylish..but actually has no idea what black matches with.
Reply:As long as it doesn%26#039;t look out of place with the rest of the outfit, why not? It%26#039;s all a matter of co-ordinating the look. It%26#039;s no use to wear what you like if it detracts from the rest of the outfit. Find a suit that complements the boots, and then you%26#039;ll be all set.

New tall boots?
OK, I%26#039;ve just ordered a pair of Devon Aire Nouvelle Zip back field boots with gussets... I don%26#039;t know anyone with these boots, do any of you have them? What do you think of them? How long did they take to break in? Thanks!
New tall boots?
i have never had them (mine are dublin) but devon aire is a great brand. make sure that you can return them if you need to. getting the zip back is a really good idea, it makes getting them on and off go a lot smoother!
Reply:Make sure you can return them. Not every pair of tall boots are going to fit every person the same way. I have a pair of Devon Aire%26#039;s and they are pretty stiff, but I don%26#039;t wear them a lot so its understandable.

When are boots or high heels too high?
Ladies, where do you draw the line with the height of your high heels or boots? Do higher boots or heels make some sort of statement? What is that statement?
When are boots or high heels too high?
One thing is, that the heel height is relative, and it depends on the shoe size, so just a height makes no sense.I think you should only wear a heel height in which you are able to walk safe with. Nothing looks uglier then a women wobbeling around in high heels.
I wear heels most time with a height of 4%26quot;. If it is just an evening in a restaurant 5%26quot; are ok too.
Reply:I draw the line when I can not walk in them or they hurt too much, which is not that often as I wear 4%26quot; heels everyday to work.
The statment for me is that I think wearing heels is sexy and gives your look that extra bit of style and looks like I care about my professional career. I work in a law office adn I dont think flats or runners are ok.
When I go out shopping for dancing I think they are just more %26quot;put together adn stylish!%26quot;
plus they make your body look damn good! :)
Reply:i draw the line when i can%26#039;t walk in them properly.
i love high heels but if they are way to high, i feel like i will topple over...no bueno.
wearing higher heels or boots just says..ha i can do it and you cant :(

i have no idea if they make a statement other than they make you taller and your legs look longer and sexier.

How tall are riding boots supposed to be?
I just got some Dublin English riding boots from Dover Saddlery and I%26#039;m not sure, but I think they are too tall. When I bend my legs, the back of the boots poke into my thigh. The front of the boots comes to about mid knee. Are they too tall?
How tall are riding boots supposed to be?
You dont want them covering your knee. You want the front to be just below your knee and the outside to come just a little higher on your knee. it should not restrict the way you bend your knee. Its normal for the boot to crease and it sometimes pokes your thigh but that is just because they probably are not broken in enough yet.
Reply:they should be short enough to were you can bend your knee proprly
Reply:i think they are too tall. the highest boots i have ever owned come to the point in my leg that is right before my knee. maybe 2 inches below the knee cap.
Reply:yes they are to tall,,,,, they should not even come up to your knees
Reply:there meant to come just below your knee cap and yer they usually stick into your thigh a little bit
Reply:i know boots are taller when you first buy them because when you break them in the ankles need to bend so it shortens about and inch or 2 inches... but mid thigh does seem pretty high
Reply:they should not poke you in the thigh, but should come to the inside of your knee
Reply:I%26#039;d probably say that they%26#039;re too tall. The back is meant to come just under the back of you knee so that when you bend your knee it doesn%26#039;t really bother you. I bought some Dublin Universal Tall, when I bend my knee they like poke into the back of my knee but they flex so it doesn%26#039;t really bother me.
The lady at the shop told me that leather boots shrink about 2inches at the ankle (they just get shorter), because I was having trouble finding boots that weren%26#039;t too tall.
Gotta say I settled on the Dublin Universal Tall at first because they were dramatically cheaper but also because they%26#039;re not too tall, they%26#039;re SOOO comfy and tall boots are the best!

Will Football boots Eg. Astros, studs make a difference playing football then playing in just ordinary shoes?
My friends keep taking the piss as I find i can%26#039;t play in my Shoes aswell as My astros. Ive told them that I feel more Comfortable in astros than in shoes. But they say it doesn%26#039;t matter what your wearing on your feet (Like anyhing!). I said to them why do proffesional footballers pay like £200+ on boots i said it gives you more comfort and in my opinion more control over the ball. While they said it was purely for style reasons and the look of the boots.
Btw i wear Total 90s astros.
and play as a tricky right winger (Try =D) to style my play on C.Ronaldo or Glen Little.
I like to put crosses into the box and beat players.
Yeah but anyway is there a difference?
Will Football boots Eg. Astros, studs make a difference playing football then playing in just ordinary shoes?
that%26#039;s why your like ronaldo and they are not they are jealous because you have more control and balance turn on a sixpence.obviously studs would be better on turf than astros play whatever you feel comfortable in.

Do you think boots are fashion helper or fashion destroyer?
I would think twice before I put my boots on. Most celebrities have a perfect outfit but killed of by their boots, I just saw rarely, when boots and outfit match together. I mostly found that half-ankle boots are less domineering rather than high-knee boots.
Do you think boots are fashion helper or fashion destroyer?
boots look good if you know how to wear them.
Reply:well it could go either way if you are country it would match but if you are not then boots are not going to match then again my friend well were boots with just about and he looks good it is all on you
Reply:well it all depends really... some boots just isn%26#039;t all that cute but some are it all depends on how it goes with you

What kind of boots to buy?
I%26#039;m a flip flop girl, but my feet are getting cold and I want some cute boots to wear to work or when I go out. What is the best style to start me on boots and what makes the most sense to purchase? Should I start at low boots assuming I%26#039;ll always wear them with pants or should I go calf boots if I want to wear them with a skirt or something? If I get calf boots should I get the kind that is stretchy or does that only look good on a perfect leg? As you can tell, I have no fashion knowledge, but I%26#039;m trying!! Help me out!
What kind of boots to buy?
start off with comfortable low cut boot
Reply:Cowboy boots, something tamed down, and sleek.
Reply:snow boots, winters comming.
Reply:calf boots would be great but not the stretchy kind! i personally love dolce %26amp; gabanna boots! they come in tall ones that when worn over jeans look great!!
Reply:A gothic looking boot because the gothic look are in.
Reply:u should wear flat boots since u like flip flops and you should buy some that reach your calf.
Reply:I would get a taller boot, maybe a cute cowboy boot...and you dont necessarily need to have a flat boot, you could get one with a thick, short heel!!!

Boots or hesls?
one of my favorite outfit is a black leather short skirt, black tights/pantyhose. my tops alter. does this outfit look better/ more attractive in black leather boots or heels?
just in case, my boots look like this: http://www.kompakt.se/upload/black-cuban...
mine are knee high
my heels look like this:http://www.darkcastle-airbrush.ch/airbru...
Boots or hesls?
Boots.
With a miniskirt, and actual pumps/heels, it%26#039;d look like too much I think, considering you have black pantyhose on. Go with boots.
Try switching up the pantyhose with herringbone, or striped, or fishnets (even nude fishnets look so cute and really show off your legs)...
Reply:Are they really your boots, or just boots that look like them?
They%26#039;re stunning!!!
Definitely wear them with the leather mini, but with barely-black rather than black tights...
Makes a better contrast between your leg and the boot, and shows them off better!!! (The boots! lol) Report It

Dress boots vs. Field boots?
I%26#039;m begining to show my horse Belle again. I have a pair of dress boots that I use for my horse Space Cadet when we do Hunter/Jump and dressage. I was curious to know if I could use a pair of field boots for shows with Belle as we won%26#039;t be showing as much this season?

Field boots are fine...definitley for H/J. They are fine for lower level dressage also but if you were doing upper level I would go for dress boots.

Boots - slimming or not?
I think heels are definitely slimming but what about boots? My view is that knee length boots absolutely are, especially with a heel. However you need to be tall and slim to carry of over the knee boots. What do you all think?
Boots - slimming or not?
I think that boots are slimming with heels - but they are just so cool - can do so much with boots!
I am a size 10/12 and only 5%26quot;5 so no i dont think that you have to be tall and slim to carry it off! anyone can wear boots - and everyone should!!!!

I don%26#039;t really know much about boots because the only pair I own are my beloved heart%26amp;polka dot rain boots... but...
Armwarmers are just another accessory, like kneehighs or legwarmers or wristbands. You can find them in a lot of places, but I%26#039;ve noticed tons of people buying them at Hot Topic. That might not be your style though (those Hollister ones were pretty cute.)
Since fashion has no limitations, you can wear armwarmers however the hell you want, but it%26#039;d probably look the best with shortsleeves. In my opinion, 3/4 sleeves %26amp; armwarmers are just as silly looking as bermudas %26amp; kneehighs. But, its up to you to rock them how you wanna.

Hello, I%26#039;m looking for pony boots (which are basically boots in the shape of regular ankle/knee high boots, only without the heel, so they look like hooves)

Paint removal from boots?
Ok, so I asked someone to dye a pair of boots for me, but instead she put latex house paint on them. The boots are the Corcoran Marauder style with leather toe and heel, and either cotton or nylon everywhere else (more or less). The paint is comming off of the leather areas just fine (where it could actually stay, as far as I%26#039;m concerned), but has deeply penetrated (not all the way through) the fabric, making it stiff, gummy, and, critically, ruined its vapor permeativity. My tentative plan is to soak the boots in OOPS for a day or two and then wash them out a few dozen times. My concern is that the OOPS may degrade the fabric or rubber soles, or otherwise destroy the boots. Does anyone know what to expect, or have any better ideas for getting the paint out? I had the boots custom made when I was in Korea, and would like to recover them if possible.

thats really funny is she daft or what
latex house paint can be degraded with ammonia/windex or denatured alcohol
I would not use anything stronger than that and I would do it by hand no soaking
Reply:WD-40 spray lubricant should work for getting the paint off your boots and this will not harm the leather and it will penetrate and add water repellency it will also soften and protect and remove paint, just spray on and leave for about twenty to thirty minutes then remove with a cloth or old sponge when paint is removed you will see that the paint has darkened the leather as house paint is full of chemicals that hard materials can only withstand, the person that did this to your boots has deffinitely ruined your boots so they will never be the same again Good Luck !

Can field boots be used for shows?
Dress boots vs. Field boots?
Field boots are fine...definitley for H/J. They are fine for lower level dressage also but if you were doing upper level I would go for dress boots.

Should I wear these boots to college classes?
I really like these tabi boots, and I hear that they are really comfortable. I hear that they are popular in Japan. I want to get a pair soon for exercise and maybe sleeping in, but I wonder if I should wear these to class. Maybe I could start a trend.

Boots for large calves?
I wear a size 6-8 and have never had any problems finding stylish clothes that fit. Recently I decided to add a pair of knee high boots to my wardrobe. I%26#039;ve always known I have insanely large calf muscles for a woman but until now I never had any problems.
I%26#039;ve looked on line for wide calf shoes but I can%26#039;t find anything stylish!
Does anyone know a certain store that carries chic boots for enormous calves ?!!
Or a regular boot that has extra room at the calf?
Boots for large calves?
There aren%26#039;t very many in their store right now, but Zappos carries Two Lips boots, and they are perfect for those who have big calves. You can also try www.twolipsshoes.com. I%26#039;m sure come early Fall, they will have many more styles. I wear them religiously, and they are a great fit.
Reply:Spray paint your calves the color of your shoes.
Reply:I also have large calves and there are many suggestions. One is the boots that you have can be taken to a shoe shop and they can cut the boot at the top and put elastic in there. So instantly they are strechy and will form to your calves. Secondly, I suggest Steve Madden boots like: http://www.stevemadden.com/FEUD-NAVY-LEA
that are not restricted in fit or http://www.stevemadden.com/RIDING-BRN-LE...
Reply:I don%26#039;t know why you want to put your baby cows in boots, especially since you%26#039;ll have to spend a lot of money-two pair for each animal!
Reply:Check the equestrian catalogs! People who ride horses tend to build large calf muscles and equestrian suppliers offer beautiful tall boots for all different size people ! Dover Saddlery is a great site and very reputable.
Reply:My calves are 20%26quot; in girth, so I have custom boots from Swaine Adeney Brigg %26amp; Son of London. They are not cheap. They used to have a branch in San Francisco, but it closed. You might check to see if it has a website. Check custom boots websites too.
Reply:If you can find any Bebe Kate boots on ebay they have a large calf. I ordered some off ebay and they are way too big for me to even wear, total waste of $125. There are size 6, you can buy them from me if you want :). I don%26#039;t know what to tell you about the sizing though, how can you where a size 6 and an 8? They are very nice black boots but just too big in the calf for me to wear.
Reply:nordstrom carries many boots with extended calf sizes. so does j. jill, i believe.
check online and in their stores, though i have a feeling there will be a greater selection online.
Reply:The catalog Silhouettes (plus size clothes and shoes) has a great selection of wide calf boots. Go to www.silhouettes.com
Reply:There are some really cute boots @ www.OneStopPlus.com.
Hope you find some you like.
Reply:knee high moccasin boots would work, you can lace them as tight or loose as you want., and they are so trendy now. (kate moss)
Reply:i have large calfs to. i used to get boots in miss selfridge, primark and i never got ones there but evens and other plus size stores sell boots with different sizes of calfs.

Cowboy boots?
i got these cowboy boots as a gift, and they were slightly used... i want to take them to horse camp thissummer, but i dont know if they are just fashion boots, or if they were intended for riding...squeaky clean, coulnt tell.
If they are just fashion boots, could they pass for riding boots?
Cowboy boots?
boots are to help you stay on your house,,,, ,fashion or not if a horse steps on your foot you are safe.
Reply:This is the horse racing section.
Reply:As long as they have raised heels so your feet won%26#039;t slip through the stirrups, you should be ok.

Ski boots hurt my calves, but I think it's bruising, not muscle strain. How do I fix this?
I own a pair of Salomon Performa 6.0%26#039;s ski boots that are a few years old. After a day of skiing, my calves the next morning will be sore. Talking to a masseuse that worked on me, she didn%26#039;t think it was muscle strain or tightness, but rather caused by compression of the boot cuff. I have the height-adjustable cuff set to the lowest setting. Loosening the cuff doesn%26#039;t seem like a good solution as I would lose control of my ski edges.
Am I thinking about this backwards? Is it the edge of the cuff that%26#039;s causing the pain? Should I be raising the cuff height? Or is it still not low enough? Should I insert a heel lift (and lose some control of my skis) to get my calf further out of the boot?
Additional info: I%26#039;m a blue/groomed-black skier. I have custom Surefoot footbeds (that I love!) in the boots.
Thanks in anticipation!
Ski boots hurt my calves, but I think it%26#039;s bruising, not muscle strain. How do I fix this?
I%26#039;m afraid the short answer is that your boots don%26#039;t fit and you need a new pair. Are you female? Women%26#039;s calves are bigger lower down than men%26#039;s. If this is your problem you can get boots designed with this in mind. If you don%26#039;t want to do that, wear thin socks. Improving your ski technique will help - concentrate on feeling your shin against the front of the boot (not huge pressure, just that it%26#039;s touching the front).
To get rid of the bruising, use Arnica cream.
Reply:What it sounds like to me is that they are to loose and you are getting the banging effect! Try raising the cuff and keeping them snug! Also you can get the area around the Achilles shimmed up by a pro boot fitter and that will keep you from having to much play in there. And never and I mean never put on extra socks thinking it will help! You will end up in misery! I ski bare foot in the boots! There is a hint for ya! Your boots will stink but your feet will be warmer because adding layers between the boot and your skin will cut off the circulation to your feet and blood is what warms your body so let it flow and 1 last add on throw a little cayenne pepper in there because it will open up the blood vessels thus increasing blood flow!
Reply:try loosing your boots...
Reply:Try to tie it tight around the foot and not around the calf part, and wear extra pair of socks, I had same problem and it worked great for me, Good Luck and thank you for your time.

Reply:Modern ski boots will %26#039;bite%26#039; your calves if you lean back into the boot. Unfortunately this will only ease when you get forward. Concentrating on flexing on the front of your boots will ease your suffering. I%26#039;d leave the boots as they are. Your footbeds have been made with your boots as they are, so changing it will affect how they feel.

Reply:One thing to consider is making sure the only thing in your boot is your socks. It%26#039;s a small thing, but could be your problem.
Reply:First, get your boots fitted by a professional boot fitter. They will either fix them so you will be happy or tell you that you need different boots. The problem you are experiencing is probably caused by one or more of the following things:
1. You are leaning back to much. This causes your calfs to want to rotate around the top of the cuff, thus giving you a pressure point. This also causes your toes to jam into the toe box of the boot (depending on how they fit, of course, if they%26#039;re fitted properly, ie. snug all around your foot, then you should notice your toes being crammed), so if your toes also hurt while you%26#039;re skiing, you need to correct your stance (lean forward more!).
2. You mentioned that you have adjustable cuffs, put them on the highest setting. This will make it more difficult for your calfs to want to rotate around the top of the cuff.
Hope this helps, happy turns!

Good boots I should get? Need Answers!....?
I found these...
Ariat Stockman U-Toe Boots, and I actually already have a pair of Ariat boots (but they%26#039;re more of an all purpose paddock/hiking boot suitable for riding as well). I really wanted some cowboy type boots though!
Here%26#039;s the link....I was trying to find reviews for them online but I didn%26#039;t find any so if you%26#039;ve ever had this kind let me know what you thought.
http://www.statelinetack.com/itemdy00.as...
i hope that worked! PLEASE look and let me know ..or if you have any other ideas thats fine too. Price isn%26#039;t really an issue (I expect to spend about 150 dollars...more than that I consider too much) Thanks!!!!
I need some answers soon because there is a sale going on and if these turn out to be good I%26#039;d like to get them now! Haha! tHanks!
Good boots I should get? Need Answers!....?
go to boot barn .com!!!! they have boots boots and more boots!!!! i know they have a bigger selection than stateline tack!!!! i like the ariats, justins, or the twisted-x brand....
Reply:Any Ariats are worth the money. I love Ariats, never had any problem with them not fitting correctly after wearing them in, and refuse to buy anything but Ariats.
I have worn 3 pairs in the ground (the soles literally were falling off) and buy another pair whenever I see them for cheap.
I get Ariat paddock boots (the lace up kind), but the western boot type I have heard to be just as comfortable.
Reply:I LOVE Ariat boots.
I have (blush) 7 pairs of different styles...3 lace up, 3 slip on, one zip.
I usually wear a wide shoe, but the Ariat lace up boots are fine for me in the regular width of my normal size.
Ariat boots = heaven for your feet.
Reply:Ariats are nice and all, but I personally prefer Ropers for western-style boots and just all around work boots. My english boots are Ariats, any other boots are Ropers.
If you%26#039;re set on those, they are generally good shoes. I think I tried them on when I was looking for some new cowboy boots, they were moderately comfortable, Ropers won out though. As you can probably tell, I would really suggest Ropers over Ariats for western-cowboyish boots.
Reply:These would be perfect for riding and wearing around the ranch. Ariats are very comfortable and last a very long time. I have a pair of ariats just like that and they have lasted me 7 years with no problems. The soles have held up and everything.
I would not reccommend buying Justin boots because they dont last very long. The soles wear out in 6 months and they are not very comfortable.
So even though some people cringe at the price of ariat boots, I would rather spend $150 every 7 years vs. $80 every 6 months.
Reply:I wear Ariat paddock boots with zips and love them because of the metal arches in them. I think if you are looking for a cowboy type work boot, then the best in my opinion are Justins. They are in your price range, very comfortable and hard wearing - look good too. Used to wear them back in the day with QH%26#039;s and all the vets also wore them and liked them because they were still comfortable at the end of the day.
Here%26#039;s a link
http://www.justinoriginalworkboots.com/b...
Reply:I have been riding/working with horses for years and I love Ariat%26#039;s. I think that price is about right for a high quality boot such as Ariat. I think you should see if you can find a boot retailer near you to try them on. I would not buy boots off the internet because the size you buy might not be right or they might just not be comfortable to you. They should be good for all around use, and they are cute too. Good luck, and I hope this helps..
Reply:I just bought Ariat Western Boots from discountwesternwear.com for $130 - shoe size for me stayed the same. They are the most comfy boots ever! The first time I put them on, my feet felt like they were on cushions. Browse the site, they had several styles, and some great prices.
Reply:I agree with most everyone else. Ariats are good boots. I currently have 2 pair of them, zip paddocks and heritage ropers, and love them both. They will last you a lifetime. My zip padocks have had a few problems.... I busted a few zippers, and the insoles are falling apart. But the zipper cost me $5 at a shoe shop, and I just bought a Dr. Shoals insert set for them.... good as new, and over 10 years old. My roper boots are 5 years old, and even though I%26#039;ve worn them and worked in them day in and day out for many years they%26#039;re still in like new condition!
These boots are made well! Like I said the only thing I%26#039;ve ever had go wrong with Ariats is that the insoles will eventually wear out.... but just buy a new insert for it, and it%26#039;s good as new! The leather and soles are very well crafted!
As far as riding in them..... they%26#039;re great for riding! I have a couple of pairs of boots, and I really prefer to ride in the ariats. I don%26#039;t like to ride in %26quot;cowboy%26quot; boots with the higher heels.... just doesn%26#039;t feel right when you%26#039;re using your legs, and the ariat heels work really well for good contact with your horse.
I will give you fair warning that these boots can be a little hard to break in at first.... but after a few weeks of wearing them, they mold to your feet and feel like second skin! The sizing is about normal, I might go a half size up on them!
Thanks for posting this... I%26#039;ve been looking for a new pair of boots with pink uppers, and I think I might order me a pair of these!
good luck!
Edited to add:
I went cruising on Bootbarn.com and found the same boots at a lower price:

I%26#039;m not a big fan of SLT anymore after they got bought out by horse.com..... horse.com is notorious for crappy shipping and poor customer service. I%26#039;d find them somewhere else!
Reply:well i cant wear the ariots personaly as I have a realllllyyyy high arch but I love crepe cole boots for comfort and durability. I have had one pair for over 10 years and they still look new even with everyday use... heres a few to look at in your price range with crepe soles.. several are ariots as well....

Reply:I LOVE Ariat boots. I%26#039;ve owned two pairs and actually just bought a new pair of paddock boots today. They%26#039;re super comfortable and worth every penny.
Those are really pretty, too... I%26#039;d say they%26#039;re a good buy. Of course they won%26#039;t stay that pretty after a few months of barn work, but the price isn%26#039;t bad so you might as well get what you like. :)
And yes, the sizes are the same as any other pair of shoes. I also wear and 8.5 in most shoes and the pair I bought today are 8.5.

Ariat Stockman U-Toe Boots, and I actually already have a pair of Ariat boots (but they%26#039;re more of an all purpose paddock/hiking boot suitable for riding as well). I really wanted some cowboy type boots though!
Here%26#039;s the link....I was trying to find reviews for them online but I didn%26#039;t find any so if you%26#039;ve ever had this kind let me know what you thought.

i hope that worked!
