Paddock boots for my horse. are they worth it?

my horse is always getting new injuries to make my day a lil bit harder so do you think it would be benficial for him to wear paddock boots. hes agisted with about 10 other horses and is prone to cuts around them.

do any of you guys use them, im eyeing a pair off of ebay, theyre only 25 dollars.

any experience with them?

They work well, but be sure to keep them clean and check them daily if at all possible as they will collect debris that can make worse sores than he gets from the other horses. They need to be snug to stay up, but being velcro, should come off okay if caught on something-which really shouldn't happen if they are snug enough not to fall down over the hoof. For the price, they are worth a try. For more durable and long lasting protection, we use Professional's Choice boots. They are form fitting with a neoprene side against the skin, wash easily and stay where you put them. Plus, they cover the leg from knee to hoof so you have maximum coverage.
Reply:I'm not sure what you mean by paddock boots...the only ones I know of are for humans! Do you mean something like polo wraps?

EDIT - I went to eBay and searched on "paddock boots horse" and found these - are these what you mean?

I don't see how those could offer any support or protection, other than protection from the cold. What is their intended purpose?
Reply:go for them.

I use them all the time for my horses.

They keep the legs warm and clean.

just make sure you put them on tight enough so they dont slip down.

Best of luck.
Reply:my only concern would be if the horse got caught on something b/c of them..if its just an open paddock with electric fence and no woods then I guess it wouldnt hurt.
